
Stream Sopotnica was due to its steep drop and constant water quantity suitable for water mills. There were four working mills: one close to Count’s water spring and three lower down the gorge. Under all was working Tone’s smithy. The Kofolov mill is the only preserved mill of all four, but it has not been operational for 30 years. They used it to grind corn and barley, rarely wheat. Today is used only for tourist purposes. The visitors can observe a rich countryside heritage and get the feeling of past times, how people used to live here.

Gabrje
Gabrje is a settlement, which lies on the left bank of river Soča, in municipality of Tolmin. The village was first mentioned in year 1377. It is situated at 200 meters above the sea level at the foot of Vodil vrh and Mrzli vrh. Through the village runs a road that connects Tolmin and Kobarid. [_Read more_]
