Forts on the top of Blegoš

On the top of Blegoš we find forts and concrete bunkers, which are part of fort system named Rupnik line. Forts are a reminder on times before 2nd World War. Forts on the top of Blegoš were one of the main forts along Rupnik western defence line. At that time Blegoš was considered as one of the main posts in defence system of the Yugoslavian Monarchy against Italy. During year 1920 – 1947 the border between Monarchy Yugoslavia and Monarchy Italy run on the ridges and places between Škoflja Loka and Cerklje. Few years before 2nd World War, with intention of defence against eventual invasions of Italian army, Yugoslavian army started to build the fort system, but the war stopped them before they managed to finish the line. Because of that the forts never served their purpose. Today they are mostly abandoned, dilapidated and untidy.
