
Partisan courier station P-4 was founded in March 1943 in the forest below Skarč on Javornik
In the forest above Šmihel a courier station P-4 was established on September 19th 1944, first commander of which was Alojz Krašna – Zmago. In average there were 8 couriers based in it. The station eased the connection among courier stations in wider area of Postojna and Nanos.
Station maintained the connection with P-3 in Laže pri Senožečah, P-4 on Javornik and additionally TV-2 was placed in the mill of Ivan Šantelj Javko, through which courier connection went between P-4 and P-1 near Mašuna.
On Javornik was built a small holiday house, on foundations of the former mountain hut, by Ivan Čuk. Between NLS he was a commander of the courier station P-4, so he named his hut after P-4.
Javornik
Javornik is a wooded mountain with 1240 meters of altitude. It is located south-east from Črni Vrh. The top of the mountain alone is overgrown with trees and because of that the view is limited. With the purpose of offering a view, in year 1972 a wooden lookout tower was erected on the top. [_Read more_]
