The Church of St. Cross in located in the settlement Rašica under the hill with the same name. The church was mentioned for the first time already in year 1526, and later in year 1581 in the inventory of Aquileia churches in Carniola. Since then only the shape of the ground plan remained – rectangular aisle with three-eighth final presbytery. At the end of 17th century the church was rebuild on old foundations, of that testifies the year 1684 carved on the main portal. Together with the village, the church was burned down by Germans on September 20th 1941.
In year 1986 and 1989 construction work held place. Now in church there are Prague Holly Child from year 1899, gift of Baroness Mary Hipolite Lichtenberg-Janežič from castle Jablje. Bell tower from Jakob Samassa from year 1778 is also special; it belongs among the most beautiful preserved Rococo bell towers in Slovenia.

Rašica
Rašica is a smaller clustered settlement in Municipality Ljubljana, it is located on sunny slope of the same name hill. On the hill is the peek of Stane Kosec on the altitude of 641 meters, where they in year 1957 erected a lookout tower. Rašica is the first Slovenian village that was burned down. [_Read more_]
