
Blegoš is a mountain with 1562 altitude and the second biggest peak of Škofja Loka hill chain and one of the big three Prealps peaks (here are Ratitovec, which is the biggest and Porezen). It is located between Poljanska and Selška valley. From the top opens a beautiful view on the mountains – Julian Alps, Karawanks and Kamnik-Savinja Alps. The top is grassy, where you can find enrol book and stamp, and also from here the view opens on Golaki, Polhogradec hill chain, Ratitovec, Koprivnik, Porezen, Kojca, Mladi and Stari vrh. On the top of Blegoš lead several marked paths, which offer large selection of trips, all from short to demanding ascents.
Slovenian writer Ivan Tavčar describes and glorifies mountain Blegoš in his famous work Autumn blossoms. Part from the book:
»Among Slovenian mountains Blegoš is not giant! And is not encased with magnificence, which encases our snow-whites and of what his neighbour Ratitovec has. It is encased only with humble beauty of humble Slovenian mountain pasture, which does not know ethernal snow, neither infertile scree slopes and neither wild precipices. Despite this in his own humble pays off hundredth the effort full path, which you had to walk to his grassy roof«

Forts on the top
On the top of Blegoš we find forts and concrete bunkers, which are part of fort system named Rupnik line. Forts are a reminder on times before 2nd World War. Forts on the top of Blegoš were one of the main forts along Rupnik western defence line. Today they are mostly abandoned, dilapidated and untidy. [_Read more_]
Rupnik line
Rupnik line is a fortification system, which was built by former kingdom of Yugoslavia. Rupnik’s line was had been built between years 1935 and 1941, before 2nd World War as a defence against Italians attacks. The line runs on western, northern and eastern borders of Yugoslavia. [_Read more_]
