Representation of how to make
sunday-flower bundles

The Baška heritage society will show you the procedure of making sunday-flower bundles as they used to make them in Podbrdo, Petrovo Brdo, Bača pri Podbrdu, Kal, Trtnik, Kuk, Stržišče, Poreznu and Rut. They call them bundle. Interesting is that in Grahovo, Koritnica, Hudajužna and Obloke, where they differ only in fine details, they call it »kaštron«.

Members of society gather all the necessary material, represent the meaning and symbolism of the individual ingredients and lead the production. Workshop will take place in dining hall of primary school of Simon Kos in Podbrdo. Children, their parents and granparents can attend this workshop. Together they will make their bundles, which they will take on Palm Sunday to a blessing.

The making of sunday-flowers bundles (bouquets) was in year 2003 enrolled into register of live cultural heritage of Slovenia.

In year 2017 they also added the movie about making of bundles into register, author of the movie is Nadja Valentinčič Furlan, it was recorded on workshop in Podbrdo in year 2014.
