Tuji Grm, east from the village Janče, from 18th until 22nd May 1945, held fights between the warriors of 2nd group detachment with 2000 members of German police and army. In this fights 11 NLS warriors were killed, among them also national hero Jože Kovačič. On enemy’s side around 70 Germans had fallen. In year 1977, on this ascent, they erected a monument in their memory with verses of poet Cene Vipotnik:

Let freedom of people,
let honour, honesty,
let joyful rights purling attract
from darkness by  the singing palm.
What is great,
bears  suffering,
run away shadows,
rise clear day!

On these struggles a memorial plaque serves as a reminder.
